Grown in the mountainous region of Yunnan Province in southwest China, Yunnan Black is a fully oxidised tea grown at high altitude. In its original state, Yunnan is a full bodied black tea full of tannins with a smokey, earthy base and notes of honey, tobacco and malt which produce a woody aroma and a beautiful glowing amber colour.

Through our fermentation process, the tea produces delightful smokey notes of stewed apple with caramel undertones. REAL Chaynyy Kvas has an abundance of ripe apples, honey and date on the nose, delivering stewed fruits and caramel on the palate with a delightful smoky aftertaste.

Storage

REAL Sparkling Tea is a live product. On delivery, store in a cool place (ideally 20ºc or lower), refrigerate before drinking and consume before the use-by date.

The Perfect Serve

Chaynyy Kvas is best served having warmed slightly from the fridge at 8-10 degrees.

 

With notes of ripe apple, caramel and smoke Chaynyy Kvas has a flavour profile similar to a rich cider.

Pair where you might match a full bodied red wine – red meat, barbecue and smoked meats, roast pork with apple sauce or , mature hard cheese.

Given the immediacy of the situation in Ukraine, pre-ordering will help us to raise funds now. We will list Chaynyy Kvas for pre-order throughout April, when the fermentation process is completed in May, we will bottle and send out to those who have ordered. In the meantime we will update all those that pre-order on development and delivery over this period.
