With New Years right around the corner, we are sure you’ve started thinking about what you are going to be doing to celebrate. If you’re planning on having an alcohol free New Years eve, then we have some ideas that could make your night one to remember!
Host a Party
It probably goes without saying but hosting a party on New Years is a definite must. By skipping going out into town or to your local pub to celebrate, you will be avoiding any unnecessary spending and not to mention, any alcoholic drinks. Host your own get together, where you decide the food menu and the cocktails to serve.
Our recommendation is serving a bottle of chilled Real Kombucha Royal Flush alongside a foraged wild mushroom risotto, wild garlic and truffle.
The ingredients for this dish are:
- 400g mixed wild mushrooms
- 2 small onions diced
- 4 cloves garlic , minced
- 100g butter
- 1ltr chicken stock
- 800g arborio risotto rice
- 250ml white wine
- 160g parmesan, finely grated
- White truffle oil
- Black truffle (optional)
- 400g young kale, chard and spinach (or greens of your choice)
To find out how to make this delicious dish and impress all of your party guests, we have the full recipe on our website. Pairing your premium kombucha with a fantastic meal that plays off the flavours of the drinks, will surely have you and your friends ready to ring in the new year.
A Night Of Self Care And Reflection
If you’re not big on attending parties, then having a night where you focus inwards on what’s happened in the year could be a better option. You could put the evening aside for yourself and reflect on what you’ve achieved throughout 2021 and what your plans are for the upcoming year. Supplementing this activity with acts of self care, such as taking a long bath, doing a full skin-care routine, or even having a full bottle of REAL Kombucha for yourself (not everything is for sharing!), could leave you feeling excited and ready to take on whatever 2022 has to offer.
We recommend making a list of all of the goals for the new year. Vividly describing your goals in written form and going back to re-read them is strongly associated with goal success and will make you feel more confident about achieving them.
Non Alcoholic Shake Off
Of course, having a party requires a lot of planning and even a few games to keep your guests entertained right up until midnight. Why not introduce a non-alcoholic shake off game? Each member of your party has to make a round of non-alcoholic cocktails and serve them, the most popular drink wins! It saves you having to plan a full drinks menu, whilst also allowing your party guests to get more involved.
- 25ml lime juice
- 125ml REAL Dry Dragon
- 10ml sugar syrup (or 10ml mint syrup, if available)
- Fresh mint leaves
- Ice cubes
And how to make, of course:
- Mix the lime and the sugar (or mint) syrup.
- Pour over ice cubes in a balloon glass
- Top up with the REAL Dry Dragon.
- Slap the mint leaves and garnish to taste.
This non-alcoholic, refreshing take on a classic will have your guests wowed and might even have you winning the shake-off! Also, it’s fairly simple to make, so you will have plenty of time to party the night away after making this serve.
Celebrate New Year’s Day
If you’re really looking to avoid any parties or nights out, then celebrating on New Year’s Day could be a better option. For all the non-drinkers out there, New Years Day can be a difficult time where so many of the traditions are based around alcohol. Celebrating in style the next day and doing activities that make you happy could be a more of an ideal choice.
Spending the weekend away with family and friends could be just what you need. Instead of following some of the more boozy traditions, packing your bags and heading away for a chill weekend could be way more fun. Book a hotel for the night, or even a bed and breakfast and ring in the New Year surrounded by people you love. Not to mention, our REAL Kombuchas also travel extremely well. They only need to be stored in a cool place, ideally 20 degrees or lower, so you could also pack a bottle of your choice to enjoy whilst you are away.
