Bristol and Kombucha: Getting Real in the West Country

Bristol and kombucha: two words that seem as though they were made for each other. When we first launched Real Kombucha, we felt that Bristol was already the kombucha capital of the UK. Scroll forward a few years and we’re delighted to say that you can find us all over the city they call Brizzle.

Seeing as we’re often asked about places that stock Real outside of London, we thought we’d bring you a few new and notable Real Kombucha stockists from Bristol and the neighbouring towns. Note that this is by no means the end of the line when it comes to Bristol and kombucha. We work with plenty more stockists, all of whom you can find on our regularly-updated stockists map.

Wapping Wharf, Bristol

We’re huge fans of Tessa & Elliott Lidstone’s wonderful restaurant at Wapping Wharf. They’ve been serving Real since the earliest days. Here’s a pairing recipe they gave us to pair with our Smoke House. Take it from us… it’s more than just a little moreish.

Right there in the same box park, you’ll find the plant-based Root, another of our all-time favourites. Rob Howell prepares a tasting menu worth travelling for. And we’ve interviewed him here, too!

Proving that good things come in small packages, Tare is one of the Bristol dining scene’s most exciting propositions. Cutting edge cuisine in a non-stuffy atmosphere. Tare, Bristol and kombucha… three things that make us very happy indeed.

St Stephens Street, Bristol

You know that thing about doing one thing well? Pasta Ripiena have certainly taken that to heart, which is great for the rest of us. Homemade, stuffed pasta never tasted so good.

Redland, Bristol

The Kenny was awarded Best Gastropub in 2019, commended for its unflashy take on great British cooking. And now they have a great British non-alc to serve up alongside their legendary fare.

Lower Guinea Street, Bristol

A huge beacon on the Bristol foodie scene, we’re proud to say that Michelin-starred Casamia have been supporters of Real for several years now. A great plate of food deserves a great drink, after all.

Seafood, tapas, a nice glass of Dry Dragon… that probably sums up the ideal night out for us. No surprise, then, that Gambas has everything we love in abundance.

Chew Magna

Josh Eggleton’s wonderful country inn is a byword for farm-to-table cooking, using ingredients straight from the garden. It’s always a pleasure to join a menu like his.

Chef Tom Blake, formerly of River Cottage, and Sam Sperring-Trendl head up the team at this beautiful boutique hotel and restaurant at the heart of rural Somerset. The ideal weekend retreat.
